February is the month known for Valentine’s Day—Love—and of course Ground Hog Day. According to the Groundhog we will be having an early spring. How about that snow this week? Of course, spring doesn’t really start in February does it?
Valentine’s Day is celebrated on Sunday this year; so don’t forget your sweetheart! How about going to church together? Where God’s love is proclaimed and shown by the family of God!
Fill in the blanks!
Talking of love, God’s word says He loves so much that He gave His only son to die for us so that we might have eternal Life. (John 3:16) He also told us to love God and others as ourselves. What does that love really look like? The words in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 gives us words like patient—God is patient with me and I should be patient to________________. Patience leads to kindness—God is kind to me. I should be kind to_______________. Don’t envy or be proud, boastful, rude, or self-seeking. Love is not easily angered. God is slow to be angry with me; I should be slow to be angry at_____________. God doesn’t keep a record of wrongs; I should not keep a record of _______________wrongs. Don’t delight in evil but rejoice in truth. What does love always do? Protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres, and most of all Love never fails!
Because God’s loved me first in this way so also should I love in this way. What does your love meter register?
May God’s love be shown by us today and every day.
